About Cidade De Goa Resort
Cidade
de Goa is located on Vainguinim Beach between a green hill and the deep blue sea
- the sort of setting that can turn even the most ordinary person romantic. The
resort built on 40 acres of lush greenery, was created to resemble a self-contained
Portuguese hill hamlet (the resort's unique architectural grandeur, earned an
international R.I.B.A. award). As you step in to the Lobby, you are greeted with
a spectacular view of the Arabian Sea unmatched in Goa. The bright murals and
the statues of Vasco da Gama in his three facets as an Adventurer, Statesman and
Philosopher, along with the fountains further enrich the character & the ambience.
Hotel SpecificationsAccommodation at Cidade De Goa ResortThe
rooms and suites are designed to create a unique aura of tradition coupled with
luxurious comfort. Unwind and relax to the sound of the waves while sitting in
your private balconies overlooking the sea.
CASA The Casa room
is designed to make you feel at home. Just like the Portuguese saying, "Mea
casa, tua casa" - my home, your home. All rooms have cable television, a
well-stocked mini-bar, and a magnificent view of the Arabian Sea.
DAMAO
Yet another of our rooms carved in the local Goan-style. A few of these
'Damao-type' rooms are decorated with terracotta, mirror-work, and straw mats,
highlighting the influence of Daman (another Portuguese colony) on Goa, hence
the word - Damao.
SUITES Our luxury suites faithfully recreate
all the magic and splendor of a bygone Portuguese era. We have a total of 4 suites
to choose from, each with a character of its own. Come and experience a world
of luxury.

Travel InformationIn
the local dialect, Goa is often referred to as 'Goa Dourada', (meaning 'Golden
Goa') because of its beautiful beaches, forts, churches, waterfalls, seminaries,
and caves.
The major beaches in Goa are Anjuna, Claangute, Colva and Benaulim,
Dona Paula, Vagator and Chapora, Cavelosim, and many more. Some of the other tourist
attractions in Goa include Dudhsagar waterfall and Arvalem waterfall, the rock-cut
caves of Khandepar and Arvalem, the Pilar monastery, Saligao seminary, and Rachol
seminary. Apart from beaches and other attractions, Goa is also famous for its
churches and temples. Some of the leading churches in Goa include, Our Lady of
Immaculate Conception, the Se Cathedral, Basilica of Bom Jesus, Church of St.
Francis of Assisi, Church of St Cajetan, Church of St. Augustine, and others.
Fort Aguada is worth a visit to savor the nostalgia of the Portuguese regime,
especially in its lighthouse and the Aguada jail. The Terekhol Fort near the Arambol
beach has been now converted into a hotel. The Museum of Christian Art at the
Rachol Seminary and church and the Braganza House near Margao are also worth a
visit. Besides these, to get a glimpse of the Hindu population in Goa, one has
to visit Ponda. The Kerkar Art Complex in south Calangute is also an important
tourist center.
